Frequently Asked Questions
Information on Stay and Arrival in the Czech Republic
The Czech Republic is a liberal and particularly dog-friendly country.
It does not recognise so-called "dangerous/fighting breeds," meaning there are no legal bans or special requirements for owners and breeders of specific dog breeds.
Dogs are generally allowed to move freely in towns and municipalities. However, specific rules, including the requirement to wear a muzzle, are regulated by local ordinances. The town of Brtnice, where the championship and associated competitions will take place, does not have such an ordinance. Naturally, it is important to be considerate and responsible towards others and to avoid taking unnecessary risks.
Motorways and first-class roads in the Czech Republic are subject to tolls, requiring the purchase of a motorway vignette. A ten-day vignette costs CZK 270 (approximately €11).
Speed limits: motorways – 130 km/h, first-class roads – 90 km/h, urban areas – 50 km/h. There is zero tolerance for alcohol consumption while driving.
Travelling to Brtnice
The most common route to Brtnice is via the D1 motorway. Take exit 119 – Velký Beranov, then travel approximately 20 km through Luka nad Jihlavou to reach Brtnice.
Accommodation
Accommodation is available directly in Brtnice; however, please note that pets are not permitted. The nearby regional town of Jihlava offers a wide variety of accommodation options, and within a 20 km radius of Brtnice, there is something to suit every preference. We recommend searching on Booking.com and making reservations as early as possible.
Catering
Refreshments and main meals, including grilled specialities, will be available at the World Championship venue, located at the football field. Additional catering tailored for the event will also be provided at a nearby pub.
Shops
Brtnice features several convenience stores, including one that stays open late into the evening. For more extensive shopping options, Jihlava boasts two large shopping centres. Shops are open every day, with many grocery stores operating until 10 pm.
Payment Options
Please note that at the refreshment and merchandise stalls, payments can only be made in cash (CZK). At the pub next to the field, card payments are accepted. It will also only be possible to pay in cash at the Saturday gala evening. A cash machine is located in Brtnice on Náměstí Svobody.
Tracking Fields
The IGP and IGH tracking will be held on winter wheat fields, while the FPr tracking will take place in a meadow. You can check the current status here.
